The stimulus for this book was the confluence of three events.
Dr. Bozzuto became aware of a troubled adolescent who had been emailed her mother's pornographic work from fifteen years prior which had been found on the internet.
This coincided with Sasha Grey's appearance at Yale University for "Sex Week," six months after the brutal rape and murder of a young female student who was to be married the next day. Under cover of being a "performance artist," Sasha demonstrates how to abuse, violate, rape and humiliate women.
How could a fine university like Yale openly embrace someone who performs these acts, after the rape and murder of one of their own?
The third event was the hardest. Watching the disintegration and death of numerous adolescents, some who idealized the lifestyle of Sasha, is represented in the character of Lexi - a composite of many disturbed and disabled adolescents.
This is the witness of one man. A look behind the cameras.
